Project Practice & Integrated Creation

Ages 6–8 are a stage of rapid growth in systems thinking, innovation and integrated creativity. As logical thinking, comprehension, spatial awareness and fine motor skills mature, children become capable of completing complex projects and long-term creative work. Following how children naturally develop and using real projects as the vehicle for learning, our classes guide children through the full creative process of researching, analyzing, designing, making, presenting and iterating, building systems thinking and independent problem-solving through sustained practice.

  • Systems thinking
  • Project practice
  • Cross-disciplinary design

Our classes bring together many fields of art — design, architecture, animation, photography, printmaking, material experiments, art history and world cultures — and combine them with literature, science, engineering and social issues for cross-disciplinary creation. This helps children understand how different subjects connect, experience how different art fields create, discover their interests, broaden their horizons and follow a more complete path of creative growth. As the classes build on one another and projects grow more challenging, children keep strengthening innovative thinking, design thinking and integrated expression through real creative work, steadily improving their drawing, use of materials, spatial construction and project skills — so that creativity truly becomes a way to solve problems, express ideas and understand the world.

Teaching centers on project practice, research and exploration, and cross-disciplinary creation, encouraging children to keep learning around real questions. Blending art, literature, natural science, culture and design for everyday life, and moving through observation, research, experimentation, creation and exhibition, we guide children to build a complete creative path from inspiration to finished work, nurturing integrated creativity and innovative thinking through real practice.
